In this video we cover a home mechanic's approach to replacing the cylinder head gasket on a Jaguar X300 series 6-cylinder car (specifically an XJR6 4.0 supercharged as an example here). This job applies to all six-cylinder X300 vehicles, although removal of the air intake system is more complex for an XJR6 AJ16S engine, as is documented here.

Interestingly here the reason for doing this job was to fix an annoying oil leak from an oil feed to the cylinder head. Although the rest of the head gasket was in good condition upon removal, the rubber O-ring sealing the cylinder head oil feed had severely degraded. This results in oil leaking from the side of the engine, close to the secondary timing chain tensioner.
