This video examines the technical aspects of the shrimp trawl & how different net designs & gear settings effect net performance and efficiency. Filmed in the Bahamas for the clear water, controlled depth & clean sandy bottom. This production is intended for harvesters & net makers with advanced knowledge of gear used for shrimping. This film was made before TEDs & BRDs were required. The R/V GEORGIA BULLDOG operated by the University of Georgia Marine Extension Service, served as the towing platform for all tests conducted.
