Far Cry 3 is an open-world RPG and first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Montreal, with help from Ubisoft Massive, Red Storm, Reflections, and Shanghai, and published by Ubisoft for Windows, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. The game is set on the Rook Islands, a tropical archipelago in the Asia-Pacific region. You play as Jason Brody, a young man trying to survive and escape from these dangerous islands. The game includes a competitive multiplayer mode, a map editor for multiplayer, and, for the first time in the series, a 2-4 player co-op campaign set six months before the main story.

Jason, a tourist stranded on the island, wakes up one morning to find his girlfriend Liza kidnapped, his brother Grant murdered, and the island filled with deranged inhabitants.

The main antagonist on the North Island is Vaas, who has become insane and sadistic after spending too much time there. His sister, Citra, wants him dead.
