Deity V-Mic D3 Pro Review

Here I review the Deity V-Mic D3 Pro super cardioid shotgun microphone. I apologize in advance for all the talky-talky in this video, but if you’re interested in picking this mic up, it’s best to hear it do its thing.

This is primarily an on-camera mic, but it’s fantastic as a boom mic also. I definitely think this mic is worth the money—especially when compared to other similarly priced on-camera mics currently on the market.

I’ve owned this mic for about a year, and in that time I have noticed a poor ability to resist wind—even with several after-market wind muffs on it. I spent just far too much time trying to show you what I mean, but alas, I could not recreate the issue. Deity won this round.

The mic is a bit noisy, but what do you expect for an on-camera mic? Not silence, that’s for sure. But the mic noise is easily dealt with in post.

I fully recommend this mic for people who can’t afford the higher-priced boom mics like the Sennheiser MKH 50, but want a better sound than the typical on-camera mic can provide.
