One of the helpful viewers just posted the following solution to the backup camera install...

"Ok your issue with the reverse is simple! Just had this same issue on a BV755B
Violet/white wire has to go to the reverse 12 volt. If it is on the reverse light properly it triggers the radio to go to the camera when it sees 12 volt from the reverse wire.
(But after you hook that up make sure to go into the setting menu and turn on the trigger for the reverse. If you have that trigger off it will not work except for when you are on the backup camera menu and in reverse)


Also if you want to get really slick with the setup power the backup camera off of a 12volt keyed on (acc), and then put the violet/white wire to the reverse light wire.
This will allow the auto trigger to work every time you put it in reverse, but then when you go into the camera menu it will always power on the camera no matter if you are park, drive, etc. Then you can use the backup camera like a rearview mirror."
