Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has been pressed on his comparison of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act to Jim Crow 2.0.

Schumer continued to push the narrative attacking the SAVE Act during an interview with CNN anchor Jake Tapper during ‘State of the Union’.

During the interview, Schumer was asked about Kristi Noem’s remarks about the role Homeland Security will play in overseeing elections.

Schumer slammed Noem’s comments as a “load of bull”, arguing Immigration & Customs Enforcement agents should not be near polling places.

Despite Schumer’s comparison of the SAVE Act to Jim Crow 2.0, Tapper was quick to point out the huge amount of support for voter ID laws.

“About 83% of the American people, including a majority of Democrats, support voter ID laws,” Tapper said.
