Under his company Turing Pharmaceuticals, Martin increased the price of Daraprim primarily used to treat toxoplasmosis, a parasitic infection that can be severe in individuals with weakened immune systems, such as those with HIV/AIDS as well as people with Cancer. The drug per tablet was 13.50, but after Turing acquired the medication, it was increased by more than 5,000%, setting it at $750 per tablet.

It shows the underlying issues of the healthcare industry and the corporate interests who will always put profit before anyone. Insurance companies and pharma companies make billions in profits while the sick lower class are forced to comply or die because these companies have huge monopolies in their industries. It's an endless cycle.
