503 Rebuild First Start

Описание к видео 503 Rebuild First Start

First time rebuilding a 50 HP, 2-cylinder, 2-stroke engine (Rotax 503).

Total time to tear apart, decarbon pistons and heads, break the piston while splitting the crankcase to ensure a lost needle from one piston's cageless bearing was not therein (it was not), buy all the new parts (2 pistons, rings, wrist pins, crank seals, and cylinder and head gaskets in the top end rebuild kit and a whole new piston needle bearing), and reassemble was two weeks. Now for the 70 minute break-in schedule (running at progressively higher rmps for 5 minutes at a time with 1 min bursts at high to max rpm).

However, during this initial test, one of the two ignition switches was randomly failing as if being switched to the off position, disabling the ignition coil for one cylinder. The ignition is dual redundant, so killing one ignition still keeps both cylinders firing, but there is a slightly drop in smoothness and rpm.

FYI: When I walk to the other side of the engine, I'm squeezing the carb primer bulb to squirt raw gas into the intake manifold.
