NYSUT-backed classroom heat bill sitting on Governor Hochul's desk since June, I-Team investigates

It's back to school for Central New York students after summer break, following sweltering hot conditions for the final week of class and state testing. During those summer weeks off, a heated debate carried on over when and if the governor would sign legislation that would set a maximum classroom temperature for public schools. It passed the senate and assembly in June, and has the support of NYSUT, New York's powerful teachers union. If the governor signs the bill, it would take effect in September 2025.
