I had the great pleasure over 3 months to experiment and figure out ways to achieve a convincing inky look and bleed effects to support the intention of the directors to evoque traditional japanese estampe illustration.
The challenge was to not use any stock footage, and rely exclusively on Adobe After Effects plugins.

I used their technique as a base and pushed it in various directions in order to alter thel backgrounds, the animation and literally every elements produced by the artists, and give the final picture a very organic wet paper ink look.
