✍🏽 What is mark making?
Mark making is crucial in enabling a child to write. It is supports the physical and creative development of drawing lines, dots, circular shapes and patterns.

There are several types of media and engaging tools other than paper, pens and pencils which promote early writing such as ...Gloop and kitchen items!

✍🏽 To make marks and support pre writing skills we used:
Dish scrubbing brush
Pastry brush
Dish sponge
Chop sticks

🥣 For each colour of gloop made, we used:
1/2 cup of cornflour
1/4 cup of water
Food colouring
Tuff tray

📖 Method:
1. Pour 1/4 cup of water into the food colouring.
2. Pour the coloured water into the cornflour.
3. Mix (if required add more water or cornflour to get the desired consistency).
4. Repeat step 1 to 3 for each additional coloured gloop you would like to create.
5. Place the gloop onto the tuff tray.
6. Have fun mark making and creating marks using safe items in the kitchen.

Please supervise your child at all times during the activity.
