Federal officers shot and killed a person in Minneapolis on Saturday as the Trump administration's immigration crackdown continues across the area, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

DHS described the suspect as an illegal immigrant, while Minneapolis police said he was a 37-year-old white man who was a U.S. citizen.

DHS said the man was wanted on violent assault charges, adding that he was armed with a gun and two magazines.
