Enroute to Udupi, I spotted this old house on the highway in Padubidri, 30 kilometres from Mangalore, with a large signboard that announced its seafood credentials. Curious, I stopped by to discover an old 100-year-old- home with ancient doorways, elegant rosewood pillars and massive wooden beans, and in stark contrast, a rustic eatery manned by local cooks on the premises.
