All responded to a property fire

DSFRS Statement

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call from a member of the public reporting a fire on the roof of a property at the above location.

Two fire appliances and an aerial ladder platform from Torquay and Paignton were immediately mobilized by Fire Control.

On arrival, the Incident Commander confirmed that smoke was issuing from the roof of the property and requested the attendance of a third appliance which came from Torquay.

Crews got to work to tackle the fire using breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet, and a covering jet. Tiles were removed to expose the area of the fire for crews to gain better access.

Once the fire had been extinguished, the crews used a PPV fan to clear residing smoke.
