This is the intro solo to the Savatage Classic "The Hall of The Mountain King," as originally played by Criss Oliva.

As I stated in the video, Savatage is my all time favorite metal band and Criss is in my top 5 fav guitarists, so this was a pleasure to do. Criss's style is hard to cop so listen closely to all the nuances and get them as close as you can. In live versions of this Criss has some variations so don't be afraid to explore!

The fingerings are mine as there is not a ton of good footage of Criss's live playing unfortunately, so some educated guesses were made. At the end of the day it's the sound that matters and I think this sounds very close to the original and will get you most of the way there.

Take care with the tuning which is :
1 D (high)
2 A
3 F
4 C
5 G
6 C (low)

**Note**On the tutorial portion on this video you can barely hear a little bit of my original signal along with the signal that's running through the Digitech Droptune pedal. This can make things sound a little bit out of tune as the signals fight against each other. The main signal is clear so it should not be a problem, plus you have the TAB, but just wanted you to be aware of that...I'm not out of tune :-)
