Описание к видео Pyrenees - solo hiking through sun and rain - Aigüestortes - no talking ASMR hiking

I hiked alone on part of the Carres de Foc hiking trail in Aigüestortes in the Pyrenees. The weather was mixed with rain, hail and sun. It's a wonderful trek with wild lakes and mountains. There is no camping allowed in the national park so I stayed in the very cosy refugios. ROUTE GUIDE below...

• ROUTE GUIDE
This circular three (and a half) day trek took me through the heart of the Aigüestortes and Sant Maurici National Park in the Catalan Pyrenees in Spain. It is part of the longer Carros de Foc route. Aigüestortes is, I think, the most beautiful area for hiking in the Pyrenees. A land of jagged peaks and convoluted lakes and rivers - the Catalan name Aigüestortes means Twisted Waters. I had a mix of weather from wind, rain and hail to bright sunshine.

The route I chose started in Boi where I jumped in a taxi to the end of the road (no cars allowed). From there I walked towards Estany Llong and then over the Colladeta de Dellui (04:00) to Refugi de la Colomina (06:32). The next day I passed by aquamarine lakes and over the Collada de Capdella (10:45) to Refugi J.M.Blanc (15:26). And from there, the longest day, over the Coll de Monestero (18:47) and through the Portarro d'Espot (22:02) to Estany Llong (22:14) and back to Boi. I also took a side excursion from the Coll de Monestero to the summit of one of the national park's highest peaks: Pic de Monestero (2877m). It's quite a steep climb that requires a bit of exposed scrambling but, if you have a head for heights, the view at the top across the surrounding mountains is well worth the effort.

It's a fantastic route if you don't have time for the full nine-day Carros de Foc. Be prepared for rough terrain and changeable weather. Camping is not allowed anywhere in the national park and swimming is not permitted in the lakes. But the refugios, with great food and beer and lots of friendly fellow hikers, are excellent, if a little cramped at times.

• MOUNTAIN SAFETY
Remember that hiking and mountain climbing can be dangerous. The videos on my channel are for entertainment only (other than where specified). Always prepare well and be willing to abandon a trip if it becomes dangerous due to weather or unexpected trail conditions. If you are new to hiking and the great outdoors it's always a good idea to go with a guide or a more experienced companion. And remember - give the wildlife some space, leave no trace, go quietly and enjoy it out there!

• A word on DRONES
I know how annoying it can be to hear a drone whizzing about when you are trying to enjoy the peace and solitude of wild places. I'm also aware of the potential to disturb wildlife with them. I always avoid flying the drone when there are other hikers around. It's one of the reasons I tend to hike at less popular times of day and in mid-week and I avoid using the drone if I do see others nearby. I never fly a drone towards wildlife or where birds are likely to be nesting.
