Описание к видео Eddie Money ~ Two Tickets To Paradise 1977 Extended Meow Mix

Sad news, Eddie Money passed away today...I had this one lined up already and hope I have done it justice.
Edward Joseph Mahoney was born on March 21, 1949 to Daniel and Dorothy Mahoney in New York City. He was pursuing his career like his granddad, father and brother had done as members of the NYPD, but dropped out to follow his dream as a musician. Relocating to Berkeley, California he played many gigs where he caught the attention of Columbia Records. His debut album the self titled Eddie Money contained "Baby Hold On" (#11, 1978) and "Two Tickets To Paradise" (#22, 1978). "Two Tickets" has sentimental value for Eddie, who wrote the song for his girlfriend and the situation they were in as her mother wanter her to marry a college educated professional, not a musician. He hoped that the song would soften her heart. The record execs at Columbia felt that the album version of "Two Tickets" needed some sprucing up and re recorded the song changing some lyrics and adding more guitar riffs for a new single version. It has since become his signature tune. His career faded after the unsuccessful 1983 release of "Where's The Party" and his growing addiction to drugs. He cleaned himself up for his comeback LP "Can't Hold Back" in 1986 with Ronnie Spector's background vocals on "Take Me Home Tonight" where she reprised her "Be My Baby" hit from 1963. Money married for love in 1989 and now has five kids! Working hard at staying sober, he espoused the 12 step program and realized "that I didn't really need [drugs or alcohol] for my quick wit." He still tours regularly and has opened the DTE Energy Music Theatre summer concert season in Detroit since 1992. He passed away today September 13, 2019 at the age of 70 from esophageal cancer.
