Brantford Bulldogs host first OHL playoff game in four decades

Friday night is expected to be an electric night in Brantford, as the Bulldogs prepare to host the city’s first OHL playoff game in four decades.

The last time Brantford hosted a playoff game was in 1984. A game that has been 40 years in the making.

To celebrate their return to the playoffs the team has encouraged fans to wear white to the game and will be given white towels as a part of the Bulldogs’ “white out.”

They’re borrowing the iconic playoff tradition from the Winnipeg Jets, who also asked their fans to wear white.

The team has also thought ahead for those who may not have any white to wear to the game with white-out playoff t-shirts at the stadium on Friday.

It might just give the Bulldogs a home-ice advantage, as Brantford crowds are known to be electric.

The Dogs will take on the Ottawa 67’s in the first game of the Eastern Conference Quarter Finals, it will be a best-of-seven series, with the next game on Sunday, again at home for the Brantford Bulldogs.

Brantford won the season series against Ottawa three-to-one.

The game and the playoffs are expected to bring loads of excitement to Brantford and Market Street this weekend.

Fans are excited anytime the Bulldogs are in the playoffs, but they’re especially excited the host the first game here in Brantford.

Game one begins on Friday evening and the next game will continue to Sunday at the Civic Centre also at 7 p.m.

The series will shift to the nation’s capitals for games three and four at TD Place Arena, if necessary the next three contests will be played over a four-night period from Thursday to Sunday with games five and seven in Brantford.
