Batata Vada is a popular street food recipe all over Maharashtra. This is the most simple and quick recipe for Batata Vada.

बटाटा वडा महाराष्ट्रातील एक प्रसिद्ध आणि चविष्ट नाश्ता आहे. हे चविष्ट स्नॅक बटाट्याचा वापर करून तयार केला जातो, ज्याला मसाले घालून तळलं जातं. हे सहसा वडापाव म्हणून खाल्ले जाते किंवा चहा बरोबर नाश्त्याला दिले जाते.

The potato's fiber, potassium, vitamin C, and vitamin B6 content, coupled with its lack of cholesterol, all support heart health. Potatoes contain significant amounts of fiber. Fiber helps lower the total amount of cholesterol in the blood, thereby decreasing the risk of heart disease.

बटाट्यामध्ये पोटॅशियमचे उच्च प्रमाण असते, जे रक्तदाब कमी करण्यास मदत करते. त्यातील फायबर हृदयासाठी चांगले आहे, कारण ते रक्तातील कोलेस्ट्रॉल कमी करण्यात मदत करते.

Ingredients:

5 Potatoes, boiled & mashed
Gram Flour (as required)
1 tbsp Oil
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
15-20 Curry Leaves
3-4 Green chillies, chopped
1 tbsp Ginger Garlic crush
1/4th tsp Turmeric Powder
Coriander Leaves
Salt to taste
Water

साहित्य:

५ बटाटे, उकडून व कुस्करून
चण्याचे पीठ, (गरजे नुसार)
१ tbsp तेल
१ tsp मोहरी
१५-२० कढीपत्त्याची पाने
३-४ हिरव्या मिरच्या, तुकडे करून
१ tbsp आलं लसूण ठेचून
१/४ tsp हळद
कोथिंबीर
मीठ
पाणी

Method:

In a large bowl, mash the boiled potatoes.
To make the filling, heat a tadka vessel. Add oil, mustard seeds, green chillies, ginger garlic crush, curry leaves, turmeric powder & salt. Mix everything.
Add this tadka to the mashed potatoes along with coriander leaves. Mix everything well.
Make medium size round balls of the mixture and keep it aside.
To make the covering, in a bowl add gram flour, turmeric powder, coriander leaves and salt.
Add some water and make a pouring consistency batter.
Dip the potato balls well into the batter and add them to the hot oil.
Fry them on a medium flame. Let them turn golden brown. Flip them well.
Remove the ready vadas on a kitchen towel so that all the excess oil is absorbed.
Enjoy the Batata Vadas with tomato sauce or green chutney.
