The announcement for Far Cry 6 was back in July 2020 and the second this trailer was released, players started to speculate that Diego Castillo (The kid in the trailer) is a young Vaas Montenegro who is in Far Cry 3, meaning that Far Cry 6 is the prequel to Far Cry 3, but how is this possible?

Is Far Cry 6 A Prequel To Far Cry 3? DEBUNKING The Young Vaas Montenegro Theory

Players started to speculate that Diego Castillo is a young Vaas Montenegro the second that the Far Cry 6 Announcement Trailer was released, many players noticed a scar just above Diego Castillo's eye which closely resembles the scar on Vaas Montenegro. In addition to this, just weeks before the Farcry6 trailer, Michael Mando (The actor behind Vaas) started to hint towards a potential return to the Far Cry series. This information got Far Cry fans really excited, Far Cry 3 is by far the best game within the series and more fans connect with that can than any other Far Cry game that has been released but unfortunately, there's things that are not quite adding up. So far we have only the announcement trailer to go off, we have not Far Cry 6 gameplay and ubisoft haven't released any crazy information in interviews about Farcry 6. With this we are just going off the Far Cry 6 trailer reaction.

I will take a neutral position on the matter, provide all the reasons why Diego can be Vaas, all the reasons why Diego can't be Vaas and then I will conclude by saying my opinion but also opening the question to you guys so I can hear all your thoughts. I do believe if Vaas is making a return to Far Cry, the series will definitely get a boost but Ubisoft will have to really bend some lore for them to make Diego Vaas but lets explore the theory.
