Sometimes my swarm control tricks just don't work out. This is one of those incidents. You do what you can, and the bees just follow their own path after that.

This is a Five Frame Deep Langstroth Nucleus Hive.
Wooden body
3/4" diameter entrance hole that is partially blocked so they can easily enter/exit while being able to defend the colony.
Final configuration includes a nucleus Ceracell Feeder Shim that is suited for liquids or solids.
Five frames of heavy waxed foundation in wooden frames.
One of the five frames is partially covered in capped honey and is drawn out completely so the queen can begin laying eggs right away.
They have plenty of time to build up, and once the frames are being drawn out well, I plan to add a second 5-frame deep super.
