Plan at least five days for this park to enjoy what it and the surrounding area have to offer. We took four field trips to some interesting places during our stay here: George T. Bagby State Park and the paved Phenomenal Trail there, Providence Canyon State Park, Kolomoki Mounds State Park, and beautiful Eufaula, Alabama.

Cotton Hill Park (or Cottonhill, we've seen it both ways) sits on the shores of Walter F. George Lake or Lake Eufaula. We were told that it is called Walter F. George Lake on the Georgia side and Lake Eufaula on the Alabama side. This campground is an Army Corps of Engineers park located in Ft. Gaines, Georgia.

What we love about Cotton Hill Park:
1. Spacious waterfront and water view sites
2. Nature Trail
3. LARGE dog park
4. Miles of park roads
5. Lots to do in the park (fishing, biking, kayaking, camping) and within an hour's drive
6. Verizon works...but be patient. We could do what we wanted but it wasn't fast consistently.
7. Sewer!

What we don't love about Cotton Hill Park:
1. Inconsistent Verizon service
