"The land came to us at Rs 1500 an acre ... we took 7 years to get 350 acres ... and after we bought the land we ran out of money and had to sell 85-90 acres to members to get seed capital to build the track.
"For first cheque came from McDowells for Rs 50lakh. Then came TVSMotorComm with Rs 25lakh, MRF Tyres with Rs 35lakh, JK Tyre with Rs 25lakh and these four gave the first bits of money."
