A message from Ste Hann, Digital Media course leader at Catcote 6th Form.

"It's been a fantastically productive and busy year for the digital media students up at the 6th form site.

Firstly, changing our name from "Digital Media" to "Catcote Spotlight Digital Media Productions", complete with our own shiny new logo as designed by S3's Brandon. We changed it as we feel it better portrays what we are about and what we offer.

Secondly, we continued to develop and strengthen our professional relationships outside of the college/ Academy by once again teaming with the Centre for Excellence in Creative Arts Hartlepool. They remained very accommodating, letting us use their green screen room, podcast room and their other fantastic facilities! This was used to fantastic effect when we worked with BBC Radio Tees radio presenter Paul Goffy Gough, on not one but two separate occasions. This is something all parties involved are keen to develop in some form or another in the future. The students took part in presenting a radio show and conducted a question and answers session with Goffy. Both were brilliant and educational sessions.

Students and staff have produced 4 videos thus term which is a record number for us. We will be posting all of these for you to watch.

The first of 4 is "Odds are" by the Barenaked Ladies. This is easily our most ambitious video yet and took the longest to produce but was so much fun to create. It even has a small cameo from the CECAs very own Chris Miller...brilliant!"
