The Gobbi mobile is the third Montessori mobile introduced at 6 weeks of age.

This mobile:
- Helps refine the developing child's sense of sight
- Encourages focus and concentration
- Gives kinetic information
- Helps the child with color discrimination

Materials:
- 1 Wooden dowel, (12″ long)
- 5 Styrofoam balls
- 1 Large tapestry/embroidery needle
- 5 Graded colors of embroidery thread. 4 skeins of each color
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Tape
- Fishing wire (optional) to hang your mobile. You can also use ribbon, rope, or leftover thread.

These are some suggested colors:
Yellow: 745, 744, 743, 972, 742
Green: 909, 910, 911, 912, 913
Blue: 796, 797, 798, 799,800
Pink: 600, 601, 602, 603, 604
Purple: 211, 209, 553, 552, 550
Cranberry: 816, 3831, 3832, 3833, 761

I found all of the materials at Michael's. These mobiles usually sell for $40-$60, but I made mine for under $12 with coupons and discounts! This mobile makes a beautiful shower gift too!
