Live: Floodwater inundates Sri Lanka, leaves 8 missing and 1 dead | N18G

Several parts of Sri Lanka were inundated on Wednesday (November 27) after heavy rain and strong winds battered the South Asian island nation over the past two days.
Police said eight people were missing after the tractor they were in was swept away by floodwater in an eastern part of the country, while one woman has died after being buried in a mudslide, according to the country's disaster management centre.
A deep depression that formed over the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a “cyclonic storm” and make landfall on island’s east coast on Thursday (November 28), according to Sri Lanka’s Department of Meteorology.
