Offseason 1--Houston S4E13 NHL 23 Franchise Mode; Thomas Pepin NHL Talk

In an alternate reality, two years after the Seattle Kraken entered the NHL, the league decided to expand again.  Looking for a market with a large population base and an NHL-ready arena, and having seen how well the Dallas Stars organization has done, the NHL selected Houston as the new location.  In turn, to simultaneously honour the region's hockey history while also coming up with something new, the team's ownership group opted to call the team the Houston Aces (rather than the Houston Aeros).

With their name established, the Aces' owners' next order of business was to find the team's first General Manager.  Looking to do something big, the owners shocked the league and swung for the fences by hiring a new, inexperienced, and unknown GM: Thomas Pepin.  Can he turn a new team in an unstable market into a perennial contender and prestigious organization?  Only time will tell...
