Me and Miranda go on an overnight hike to the Big South Fork NRRA. Our first overnight trip since the Grand Canyon. We decided to do this only 4 days before we went, so we did limited research and were not able to purchase a proper map. We ended up using the All Trails App + GPS to navigate. Looped from Bandy Creek Campground to Leather Wood Ford and back to Bandy Creek via 297. Supposed to be 15.8 miles, but we ended up cutting off 2 miles with an unintended short cut. Due to very poorly marked trail intersections, we ended up being "lost" multiple times on this hike, including the first .5 miles in. This was a difficult hike overall due to steep downhill, downed trees, including one that fell on a bridge and smashed the bridge we needed to cross. Not very much wildlife. We were hoping to see bears. The scenery was stunning. Multiple caves, rock formations, and high overlooks. If you do this loop, bring a map :)
