Frank Zappa's Best Fans Made Me Do This!

Описание к видео Frank Zappa's Best Fans Made Me Do This!

Frank Zappa’s 1966 debut “Freak Out!” with the Mothers of the Invention is the second-ever rock double album, coming out just one week after Bob Dylan’s legendary “Blonde on Blonde.” I now know this because a LOT of Frank Zappa fans told me in comments of my recent double albums video (I affectionately call them the “Zappa police”). So I got it and listened, and offer five takeaways on a classic rock album that dared to poke a finger at the USA, remember doo wop, and solo like no one's watching -- with a kazoo.

In this video, I offer five initial reactions to the double album after a week's listening AND raise the question if Frank Zappa is still worth listening to in 2024.

Thank you Zappa fans.

Robert’s Record Corner plays vinyl records and talks about them every other Monday, at least.
