He froze, spotting me. "Sarah? This is a private event. You can't just..."
"Can't what?" I straightened up, holding my badge. "Attend my own company party?"
The quantum-enhanced ID glowed softly, its holographic surface displaying my new title: Sarah Chen, Global Chief Executive Officer, Quantum Dynamics Corporation.
Emma's champagne glass slipped from her fingers.
