Houthis Video Shows Attack On Bulk Carrier In Red Sea, The Ship Has Now Sunk |

The video released by Yemen’s Houthis captures how the rebels targeted the Greek-owned MV Tutor coal carrier in the Red Sea.

On 12 June, the ship was struck with missiles and explosive-laden remote-controlled boats. The ship has now sunk.

The video shows armed guards onboard the ship, while an unmanned boat approached the vessel. It’s not clear why they didn’t fire a single shot.

The sinking of MV Tutor marks the second such incident after a commercial vessel was targeted by the Houthis since November.

The Houthis say the attacks are in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.

In March, the Belize-flagged Rubymar which carried a load of fertilizer sank in the Red Sea after taking on water for days following a rebel attack.

The Houthis have launched over 50 attacks on shipping, killing four sailors.

In January, the United States launched Operation Prosperity Guardian, bringing together more than a dozen countries from around the world to conduct joint patrols in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. The coalition has also launched strikes on Houthi targets.

But as the Houthi menace continues, container shipping in the Red Sea has drastically reduced.
