I just could not believe it.

Not a single decent explanation on the interweb as to how the Echo Auto device is actually working.

I note OTHER people get given these devices to review for free, and even they can't be bothered.

So with my hard earned cash I bought and Unboxed, Installed and now understand Mr Echo Auto.

In our configuration our smartphone has an internet connection. The Echo Auto has a bluetooth connection to the smartphone. Requests goto the smartphone and are then output to the car stereo in our case via another bluetooth connection.

The output connection can also me an aux lead or Carplay but we don't have those options so Bluetooth it is

So far it works wonderfully although the biggest annoyance is surely that it can only be assigned to one smartphone. So if your car is used by multiple users (eg you and partner) who each would have their own smartphone then it can only be assigned to one of you. Aaaargh!

But we are still going to give it a go. Since we use Alexa to play a lot of our media this could be a hand free time saver in the car.
