Chordplay - The Chords Of Led Zeppelin (Part Two)

Here's the next episode of Chordplay with the second installment of The Chords Of Led Zeppelin. As I mentioned in this video, I featured the mighty Led Zep early on this channel in 2019 in the first chord-based episode that was devoted to them, along with a Jimmy Page Three-For-All lick lesson posted last year that centered around some ideas during his stint playing with The Black Crowes in the late 1990s.

This lesson returns our focus on Page's chord-based playing with Led Zeppelin and is the first "half-n-half'" Chordplay episode on this channel, as we're hitting half-electric and half-acoustic in this lesson. The songs we're targeting here include plenty that we didn't touch on the first time around, including classics such as 'Houses Of The Holy,' 'Babe I'm Gonna Leave You,' and 'Good Times Bad Times,' along with some deep-cut fan favorites such as 'The Wanton Song' and 'The Rain Song,' to name a few.

There's plenty you can learn from studying the ideas and playing habits of a guitar legend as important, talented, and influential as Jimmy Page. From his slick chord progressions and twisted fingerings to varied acoustic guitar tonalities, altered tunings, bluesy chord riffs, and so much more. He's one of the most respected guitarists for numerous reasons and his chord vocabulary is definitely one of his trademarks.
