Siyabonga Mpungose The voice of the voiceless 2023

Today, I visited a farm which has thee most cruel man I've come across thus far. I learned about him recently when I came across a poor 83 year old woman who has been brutallly treated by this white man. This man has been abusing this woman and her family by violating many of their human rights. Firstly he has been harrassing them by controlling their lives. They are not allowed to even have visitors at home.

He has physically assaulted the old woman who is still being attended by the doctor as a result of that assualt. He did this while verbally assaulting her as well. According to my knowledge, this is a violation in our country, and for years we have been condemning gender based violence, and it's worse in this case as it is done on an elderly woman. The poor woman's protection and security is also being violated because she is now scared he might do more to her and/ or her family. Secondly he has cut off their water and electricity supply. They were gifted solars by someone and he came into their home and took them down.

They then dug a borewhole because they no longer had water supply in which he contaminated which shows how far he would go in order to abuse these people. The right to water, electricity and shelter is a basic human right and it is against the law to violate these rights. I'm also sure that social services will not take this lightly because their office protects the elderly and may challenge this racist man on his actions via the law. Thirdly, this man seems to me as someone who is still practicing apartheid which also makes it a racial issue which is also against the law.

The fact that it's been 29 years of 'democracy' yet we are still experiencing such is appalling. What I have mentioned here is just a tip of the iceberg, there is more...

South Africa I am pleading for you to come forward and make this story a priority, let it trend so that we help ugogo wethu because I thought as the Umngeni residents we are safe but clearly we are not.
