Ohio policewoman Martha Cole infiltrates a gambling syndicate that has recently moved its "bookkeeping" to Dan Mathews' jurisdiction. When her identity is discovered following the murder of her partner, she is narrowly able to advise Dan of her peril and escape from syndicate supervisor Vince Carter and his henchman Charlie Blake. She is wounded in the escape attempt and must evade Carter and Blake in rough wooded terrain. Dan and Officer Dorsey capture Blake and are able to find the headquarters building where Martha has returned to gather evidence. Unfortunately, Carter has also found her there and is holding her at gunpoint. She manages to break free, but Dan soon finds himself in a bruising fistfight. Written by Sam Spear
