Jeremy Hunt - Britain longest ever serving Health Secretary - was today promoted to head the Foreign Office after the shock resignation of Boris Johnson. Mr Hunt's promotion comes just weeks after he secured a £20billion a year funding boost for the NHS from the PM to mark the health service's 70th birthday. Theresa May made the reshuffle after Mr Johnson sensationally quit the Cabinet in protest at her 'third way' Brexit plans less than 24 hours after David Davis' resignation. The appointment comes after a dramatic day for the PM which saw her face down her critics at a packed meeting of Tory MPs. She warned potentially mutinous backbenchers they risk handing the keys of No10 to Jeremy Corbyn if they topple her. And she was given a reprieve tonight with news she will not face an immediate vote of no confidence.
