Speaking of which what I'm currently scratching my (dick)head over is why YouTube(steak) keeps sending me all these notifications about copyright organization so-and-so and music publisher la-de-dah starting "disputes" saying all this shit about alleged copyright infringement on this here Slug channel.... Let's play Feud !
Here's the deal : Most of my uploads is music written by myself, played by myself and I own all the rights to it. (How my music ends up being "copyright of" o"property" of fly-by-night / P.O. Box record labels in faraway lands who can never be bothered to pay the band a penny in royalties, but eagerly license it to third party labels for a fee...beats me. Why does one thirds of my publishing rights go towards a German publisher I never signed a contract with ? No one knows. It's a mystery even Robert Stack can't solve. Don't ask how my music got on Spotify or how all these records keep getting re-re-released without the band even seeing a copy of it, much less the 40 or so different bootleg releases unleashed upon the unsuspecting consumer by cowardly anonymous enterpreneurs who justify their illegal piracy by saying they do it to "help the scene". Right.(Howabout you start your own band and bust your ass to "help the scne"?)
Anyways. Other material was not written but myself, but I am a performer on the video. There reason it is being uploaded that I wish to document the stuff our band did. The tours, the shows, the craziness, the people. So in that context, when complaints arrive from a mysterious, never heard of, so-called "copyright holder" about a HYDROMATICS video, demanding the song "Dangerous" is taken offline my first reaction is I want to drop a bowling ball on one of those bastards nutsacks. Incidentally, that particular song was written by Scott Morgan, who owns all the rights. Why would Scott file a complaint against a video that was put up by his own bandmate, where you can see him singing his own song ? It makes no sense. I'm telling you there's gotta be ton of false claimants and organized scammers out there pretending they are the owners of the publishing rights to TR|ILLIONS of titles..

WELCOME TO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY, is what I'm saying.
Since I was the one siting in that van for 20 hrs like a frozen pretzel on that helldrive to the show, since I was the one who booked the tours, since I was the one who went home broke AGAIN one month later, and since I am the one who even started the band in the first place it is probably not all that unreasonable to say, using the music WE played in OUR band that was written by OUR singer can be described only as FAIR USE.

But(tt) if YT decides to flush my channel down the commode and takes it offline after all, that's the end of that..... C'est la vie.
