Re-live the halcyon days of big steam locomotives working heavy holiday trains over the formidable grades of the Somerset and Dorset Railway (England). The West Somerset Railway “Spring Steam Gala” brings together many of the locomotive types that once worked the S&D between Bath and Bournemouth. To complete the scene the WSR stations take on the identities of long closed S&D stations. Whilst visiting this beautiful part of Britain I also take a quick look at the Lynton & Lynmouth cliff railway and the Lynton & Barnstaple narrow gauge railway at its Woody Bay headquarters, where I bump into another film maker Michael Dan creator of “Admiralscorner” on YouTube.
