In a first challenge against the Centre's recently introduced new guidelines for online media, the Delhi High Court sought the government's reply on a plea challenging the new Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Ministry of Information and Technology were issued notices by the bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice Jasmeet Singh.
