In this video I walk you through Mercado Mayorista in Quito, Ecuador. This is Ecuador's biggest fresh produce market and the main hub where all the fruits and vegetables come to from the different provinces for distribution.

There is a huge variety of everything you can think of here, and the prices are very affordable. About 90% of the fruit and vegetables here are natural, organic and grown without pesticides and sold by small farmers.

If you shop at Supermaxi or Megamaxi, I would recommend you avoid their produce. Their fruits and vegetables are full of pesticides, are mostly not organic, and are three to four times more expensive than here at Mercado Mayorista.

This market is a must see in Quito for a real local experience and to see where the city gets its food, or just to buy the best natural and affordable Fruits and Vegetables.
