Any bleeding in between the periods they are called as intermenstrual bleeds and definitely they have to be checked by a gynecologist. Or it can be hormonal imbalance, so needs hormonal treatment for that. It can be any abnormal growth or polyps. So it can be any abnormal growth in the uterus, cervix. You can have polyps which can cause intermenstrual bleeds. There can be a rough sexual activity. It can be infection locally in the vaginal region which can be the cause of small spotting brown discharge which comes in between the periods. So these are various causes but each one of them are of concern and needs to be treated. So any such intermenstrual bleed has to be shown to a gynecologist.
