Wet weather is most likely in the west of NZ over the next few days with eastern areas remaining mostly dry.

Westerly winds surge off and on with strong to gale force winds still possible over Thursday and Friday but less likely this weekend and into next week.

Temperatures are generally up in the coming days, especially in eastern and northern areas thanks in part to a sub-tropical flow for a time.

Next week, high pressure may roll in for a time.
