PAINTING VIDEO DESCRIPTION – Looking for an easy St. Patrick's Day painting idea? Let me be your acrylic art instructor as I teach you easy step-by-step instructions throughout this fun beginner art video as you learn how to paint a fairy in a forest with four-leaf clovers—a fun fantasy landscape “Four-Leaf Clover Fairy”. Saint Patrick’s Day is actually the largest and most celebrated holiday in the world. Being 30% Irish myself, I celebrate it every year, usually by making a delicious Shepherd's pie for the family. As crazy as it sounds, I didn't fully understand what I was actually celebrating on St. Patrick’s Day for most of my life. I just assumed we were celebrating St. Patrick, of whom I know really nothing about. It was actually not until I took a trip to Ireland in 2018 and after a day of hiking around the Cliffs of Moher, we went to a small dive bar in Doolin where we chatted with a friendly native who had a few strong opinions about people who celebrated this beloved holiday without really knowing the story behind Saint Patrick. It made sense to me considering I know the reason why I celebrate President’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Easter and Christmas, but at the time I really had no idea who St. Patrick really was. I learned that night that Saint Patrick was a man who escaped slavery and is credited for bringing Christianity upon his return to Ireland hundreds of years ago. I guess you do learn something new every day. Another tidbit of knowledge I learned about St. Patrick’s Day is the significance of fairies. The most recognizable and iconic symbols of St. Patrick’s Day and Ireland are the Leprechaun, the four-leaf clover, shamrocks, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and any green and gold clothing. But fairies are very significant in Irish folklore as it was believed that the Tuatha de Danann, a group of fairies, where the first to inhabit Ireland and still live in secret across the island. Today, a fairy, or Fey, are also known as “little people” and “wee folk”. So, in the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, Green Day, the Irish, Ireland, and fairies, join me and paint this image of Irish heritage. Learn to paint a magical, mystical forest, a beautiful fairy, four-leaf lovers, a big tree trunk and wild grass for an enchanting fantasy painting. You’ll learn how to draw a small lady and easy painting techniques, such as a one brushstroke and stippling, to create texture. You’ll learn how to blend and mix colors to create bold vibrant contrast, and how to layer colors to create movement and dimension to your painting. The painting process is so simple you’ll feel like it is a paint by numbers. Using only 3 brushes and 6 colors, you’ll paint like a professional! Have a date night at home, paint party, paint and sip event, or virtual paint night. Paint with gouache, oil paint, or watercolor, any medium will work! Paint just for fun or for art therapy.
