In this special Hurricane Helene vlog, chief meteorologist Brad Panovich has the latest forecast for the storm. Helene is expected to become a major hurricane before making landfall along Florida's Gulf Coast. Helene's latest cone forecast shows significant impacts possible from Panama City to the Big Bend with life-threatening storm surge possible on the Gulf Coast.

At landfall, the storm is expected to be a major hurricane with winds over 115 mph.

A "major hurricane" is defined by the National Hurricane Center as any storm Category 3 or higher. That means the storm would have at least sustained winds of 111 mph, according to the Saffir-Simpson hurricane wind scale.
