Elevator Tour - KOMTAR, George Town, Penang, Malaysia

Quick tour of the elevators at the tallest building in Georgetown, Penang. Please note that all the videos here were recorded by TG97Elevators and were given to me as the person have stopped uploading new contents.

The Fujitec ones are the newest elevators added to the complex, but they're pretty boring. They were installed as part of the tower's recent renovation project (known as The Top project) by adding some extra floors on the top as well as a new tourist attraction called the Rainbow Skywalk, the highest glass walkway in Malaysia opened in 2016. Three express elevators goes non-stop from the 6th floor to the observation deck on the 64th floor. Another elevator serves levels 64 to 66. An interesting fact here is that the express elevators were originally going to be built as scenic elevators but the design was changed to fully enclosed due to safety reason.

The KOMTAR Walk section has Mitsubishi elevators which were originally installed in the mid 1980s but they were recently modernized. Meanwhile, the elevator in the ICT @ KOMTAR is still original.

This video does not include the elevators in the main tower, Hotel Jen and the rest of the KOMTAR complex.
