Serving as a sequel to Pyjamarama, the game follows the daily life of Wally Week, a builder, and introduces his family and friends, each with unique tasks to complete.

The gameplay unfolds in a vibrant town filled with over 30 locations, including streets, shops, and public buildings. Players can switch between five characters—Wally, his wife Wilma, and their friends Tom (a punk mechanic), Dick (a plumber), and Harry (a hippie electrician)—by meeting them in the same location. Each character has specific jobs to perform, and completing these tasks earns letters that spell out a password to open a bank safe containing everyone's wages. The game's challenge lies in managing the characters' energy levels, avoiding hazards, and efficiently completing tasks.

A notable feature is the game's dynamic environment, where non-playable characters (NPCs) carry out their own routines, adding a layer of realism. Additionally, the game includes a mini-game inspired by Asteroids, accessible via phone booths within the town.

The original cassette version of Everyone's a Wally featured a song by Mike Berry on the B-side, which was also used as the game's theme music.

Everyone's a Wally is remembered for its innovative gameplay, colorful graphics, and engaging puzzles, making it a standout title in the Commodore 64 library.
