The Tamil Nadu government has inked Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with a number of data centre companies in the Indian state for future expansion.

The Tamil Nadu government inked 59 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) this week for projects totaling Rs 35,208 crore ($4.7 billion). At the Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave, the MoUs were signed in the presence of Chief Minister MK Stalin.

Adani Enterprises, L&T, STT GDC, CtrlS, and Bharti Airtel's Nxtra are among the companies that signed data centre MoUs this week. There are limited details available, and few companies have made public comments about the developments.

About SIPCOT IT Park: SIPCOT IT Park Information Technology located in Siruseri in the city of Chennai, along the IT Corridor, Chengalpattu District, India. It is developed in 782.51 acres (4 sq.km) of land by SIPCOT, the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu, a fully government-owned institution. Founded in 1971, it is the largest IT park in Asia.
