Meteor Battery Comparison with Dyness 4850 48V Battery - 5 Big Steps forward in Design

Safiery introduced 48V to the RV industry in 2019 and won an Industry wide award in 2021. Sad introduced a CAN BMS to the Dyness battery and developed the Victron compliant protocol in the battery. Even today, the firmware is not factory standard and unique to Safiery. After installing nearly 1,600 of these if 500+ installations, we know 48V lithium batteries inside out. So we took all that experience and list issue to solve with a new generation of 48V batteries and you see it here under the Meteor label. Firstly it’s waterproof. Secondly it’s Plug-n-play with no visible terminals. Thirdly it has one button to turn the entire train on/off. This button can be mounted externally. When in storage, just press the button for 3 seconds and the batteries are OFF. Fourthly, there are no always on LED’s when dormant in storage. This reduces to 1/5th the power consumed and extends battery life. Finally, it accepts the Scotty AI Meteor that plugs onto the front for a 12V changing and discharging interface. It has a 48V bus, a 12V bus and a negative bus internally. The BMS communicates in CAN to Victron’s Cerbo-S GX. There is no need to buy the more expensive model, these batteries are 250baud CAN and sit on the VE.CAN bus. The also are compatible with GARMIN’s digital switching, SCOTTY AI and Safiery’s STARship range of digital switching coming in April/May. Up to 16 can be connected together as one set. Up to 5 can be plugged together in one train. The positive plug has a mega fuse built in to make it so easy to deploy in a tunnel boot or side locker. Meteor is 180mm wide and 285mm high.
