Just by the way the teams were coming out…you know this game means a whole lot to these schools
and right out of the gates…the Texans strike….1st play from scrimmage, quarterback JW Ketchum knocks over a defender breaks tackles and after that…he just flew down the sidelines…62 yards all the way to the house for the quick 7-0 lead….
However…The Cardinals had some trick up their sleeve…their first offensive play…a double reverse flea flicker…Trevon Smith launches it down the field and he finds a wide open Terrence franklin for the 80 yard score…what a start in this old school rivalry…
Ensuing kickoff…Lamar takes it but they fumble it, recovered by the Cardinals…Bellaire’s Ryan Buckley puts in the 33 yd fg and it was 10-7 Bellaire…
But later…end of the 1st quarter…Ketchum gets it to Holton Hill who makes the grab over two defenders and keeps a foot in bounds…14-10 Lamar…
2nd quarter…former athlete of the week Ronnie Wesley…right up the gut…18 yards and he high steps it into the endzone to make it 21-10…
The Texans defense clamped down after that…beautiful pass break-up in the endzone by Logan Latin to save a touchdown…
And Lamar continues that winning streak over their hated rivals…
