Let’s go on an unforgettable 1-night backpacking adventure through the incredible Coyote Gulch in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area! Coyote Gulch is one of our favorite areas we have explored; however there are a few important things to note about the area:

*It can be done as a day hike or backpacking trip but you need to self permit at the trailhead
*No pets allowed!
*All human waste and trash must be packed out (wag bags!)
*Fires are not permitted
*It’s the desert, you need to be prepared with water and a water filter!
*There are 4 different trailheads located down hole in the rock road for this hike, some of them are more technical or require a high clearance vehicle. Do your research and find the trailhead that works best for you!

Friday night we drove 11 hours to the Hurricane Wash trailhead where we started our hike. Saturday morning we hiked about 7 miles to set up camp. After setting up camp we hiked further into the gulch to check out a few other features. The next morning we decided to hike out the “Sneaker Route” to the Water tanks trailhead. From there, we followed a previously downloaded trail on Alltrails that connected us back to Hurricane wash. In total we hiked about 21 miles!
